Youngsters Tom O'Neal and Ellen Howard are in love on the wagon train and each has a desire to be married. Both have parents that have their own problems which has affected the kids. Ellen's mother died when she was 10 and her father, Dr. Howard, has replaced his wife with Ellen. Tom's parents did marry at a young age but the marriage has been mostly bickering between the two of them in an unhappy marriage. While riding with Chris, Tom asks for his help in asking the parents for permission to marry Ellen to which Chris agrees. However, when Tom asks Dr. Howard for his daughter's hand, Dr. Howard bursts out in laughter believing the idea is absurd. The embarrassed Tom runs away and Ellen goes to her wagon to cry. Both sets of parents feel the two kids are too young and Dr. Howard does apologize to Tom. Tom and Ellen decide to elope at a town a bit over a day's ride from the wagon train. When gunfire is heard, Hale circles the wagons and sends Bill and Duke to determine the cause. They see Comancheros leaving the site of the wreckage of another small wagon train that was attacked. The only person they find alive is a young Comanchero who warns Hale that his group is planning to attack Hale's wagon train as well, and tells them how and when. He says the Comancheros are split into two groups with one group three days away. Though Hale is inclined to believe the young man, Hawks is skeptical, believing his story may be a trap. Many of the train's passengers believe this as well, and are angry when Hale recruits some of the men to come with him to wipe out the local Comancheros. When some of the men are killed, anger turns particularly against Hale and the young Comanchero, and a mutiny develops. Written by rbecker28

Perry Mason visits his old alma mater to attend a fund-raiser and becomes involved in a case of murder. He is there with a fellow alumni, James Hyatt, who has a son, Bob, preparing to graduate and is a student in Dr. Stuart Logan's class. Dr. Logan has his hopes on becoming the school's Chancellor but has made many enemies along the way. His research assistant, Van Fowler, feels cheated when he sees that Logan is planning to publish his latest book without giving him the co-authorship he had promised. When Fowler complains, Logan threatens to block his PhD. He also creates a furor on campus when he accuses some of the students of cheating and threatens to expel those who have. Bob's friend, Joe Price, stole the answers to the final exam. Finally, Logan has been cheating on his wife, Shirley, with a beautiful artist, Evelyn Wilcox. Judge Clay along with his family is being transferred - again - to a new frontier town. Known for his strict and usually harsh interpretation of the law his send off is less than friendly when the locals hang a scarecrow on his wagon. His wife and teenage son are affected by the bullying more than the Judge. Charlie prepares a lavish meal of his stew to welcome them but afterwards the Judge is confronted by members of the train led by John Cole about the harsh sentences given in some of his trials. The Judge's son, Ethan, has been reading the law with his father but begins to neglect it when John Cole's sister, Frances. shows an interest in him and he in her. John and Frances have already raised questions about being siblings as they don't look alike or act like siblings. Rowdy saves a treed nester from pistol-happy ranch hands, drawing the ramrod into a 1-sided range war. Rowdy takes Higgins to his home where Higgins lives with his daughter Sarah, son Prescott and 19 year old apprentice Grover. Higgins, a silversmith, refuses to leave Paradise Valley, run by the fearsome Johanson clan, but the New Englander doesn't cotton with gun-play. Meanwhile, Harry Johanson rides into the drover's camp looking for Rowdy who is missing. He tells Favor to be sure his men stay out of the fight. Favor has a river with high water and more on the way to cross. Johanson bars Favor's cattle-drive from crossing through his big, unhappy valley, so how can reasonable Favor prevent a wicked blood bath? Favor sends Wishbone and Quince to Pradise to find Rowdy who has gotten into a fight protecting Higgins. The three of them leave with an unconscious Higgins who they return home.
